How much does it cost to create a website?
The price of a website depends on what you need. A simple one-page website costs €750 from me. An extensive multi-page website starts from €1,990. A webshop starts at €2,990. Please keep in mind that a webshop is truly custom-made and is always priced upon request after a discussion regarding the desired functionalities.
The premium starter package includes a complete multi-page website, including logo and branding, for €2,500. That saves you €280 compared to purchasing everything separately, and you immediately have a consistent look for your new business.
Do you want to stop worrying about your website after delivery? Then a maintenance subscription is interesting. This costs €45 per month for a multi-page website and handles all WordPress updates, backups, and minor adjustments. This keeps your website secure and up-to-date.
How long does it take to create a website?
A one-page website is typically live within three to four weeks. An extensive multi-page website takes more time. Expect six to eight weeks, depending on the complexity and the speed at which you provide content and feedback.
You follow the development process via a test environment. You can view the website while it is still being built and provide feedback in the interim. This prevents surprises upon delivery and ensures that the final result is exactly what you envisioned.
The turnaround time also depends on you. If you provide feedback quickly and submit your text and photos on time, the development process will go faster. Do you have a firm launch date? Let me know, and I will plan accordingly.
What is the difference between a website and a webshop?
A website is your online business card. It shows who you are, what you do, and how people can contact you. Visitors cannot buy anything directly on a standard website.
A webshop adds the ability to buy and pay for products or services directly online. This requires extra functionalities such as a shopping cart, a payment system, and inventory or order management.
I build both in WordPress. For webshops, I use WooCommerce, the most widely used webshop system in the world. It is flexible, scalable, and easy to manage without technical knowledge. The price of a webshop is always custom-made because the required functionalities can vary greatly.
Can I modify my website myself after delivery?
Yes. Upon delivery, you will receive the login details for your WordPress website. You can edit text, add photos, and create new pages yourself. WordPress is user-friendly and requires no technical knowledge for daily operations.
If you want to manage specific things yourself, I will create custom instructions for exactly those components. This way, you know exactly what you can do and how to do it, without getting lost in unnecessary settings.
Would you prefer to leave certain adjustments to me? No problem! This is always possible via the maintenance subscription or on an hourly basis. Small adjustments are handled quickly, and you know the cost in advance.
Is a WordPress website suitable for my business?
WordPress is the most widely used content management system in the world. More than 40% of all websites run on WordPress. It is flexible, easy to maintain, and has excellent SEO capabilities. For most companies, it is the best choice.
I build all websites in WordPress using Divi as the page builder. This provides a professional result, is highly scalable as your business grows, and offers the possibility to easily expand with new functionalities later on.
There are situations where another system is a better fit, but that is the exception rather than the rule. In a good conversation, I will quickly determine what suits you best. I always give you my honest advice, even if that means a cheaper or simpler solution suits you better.
How much does website maintenance cost?
With me, WordPress maintenance costs €25 per month for a one-page website, €45 per month for a multi-page website, and €70 per month for a webshop. For this price, I take care of all WordPress updates, theme updates, plugin updates, and regular backups. If desired, I make minor textual adjustments and/or add new photos.
A website that is not maintained is vulnerable. Outdated plugins and themes are the most common cause of hacked websites and crashes. Maintenance is not a luxury, but a basic requirement to keep your website safe and fast.
Clients who choose hosting through my regular hosting partner receive maintenance included with the hosting. This is the most practical solution, where you really don't have to worry about a thing.
Do you build webshops too?
Yes. I build webshops in WordPress using WooCommerce. This is the most widely used webshop system in the world and is suitable for businesses of all sizes, from a small artisanal webshop to an extensive online store with hundreds of products.
A webshop requires more preparation than a standard website. We discuss in advance which products or services you want to offer, how payments should be handled, and whether you need a connection to your inventory or accounting software.
The price of a webshop is always custom-made. After a good conversation, I will know exactly what you need and can provide a competitive quote. A webshop that generates customers quickly pays for itself.
Can the entire process also be done online, without in-person appointments?
Yes, absolutely. I work for clients throughout the Netherlands and beyond, and have been doing so remotely for years. I conduct intake interviews via telephone or video call. You provide interim feedback by phone or email.
It has absolutely no disadvantages compared to an in-person process. In fact, many clients prefer it because it is more flexible. You don't have to schedule travel time, and you can view the test version of your website at your own convenience.
After delivery, you will receive everything digitally: login details, instructions, and files. If you have any questions afterward, I am available via email or WhatsApp. Personal and committed, even remotely.
Does my company need a website?
Yes. Your own website is the only online place that is entirely yours. Social media is borrowed territory. If a platform changes, disappears, or your account is blocked, you lose everything. Your website always remains yours.
Moreover, customers expect a website. Without a website, you give the impression that your business is not serious or does not exist. Even if you rely heavily on word-of-mouth, people look you up on Google first before contacting you.
A good website works for you while you sleep. It answers questions, builds trust, and prompts visitors to take action. That is the most effective salesperson you can have, seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day.
What is the difference between a cheap and a professional website?
A cheap website might look acceptable at first glance, but it falls short on the details that really matter. Loading speed, mobile display, SEO, security, ease of use. Those details determine whether visitors stay or click away immediately.
A professional website is built with an eye for those details. It loads quickly, looks good on every device, is easy to find on Google, and is secured with the right plugins. That requires knowledge and time, and those cost money.
